Nice and simple, but it needs a bit more realistic fierljeppen action.
For one thing. The pole could be standing in an angle (so running speed is more important). Well, see for lots of info the website http://www.pbholland.com.
I’ll make a link, so perhaps a few real fierljeppers give the game a try
I jumped 243 meter. I ran at low speed, climbed to the top of the pole and didn’t jump off. 243 meter. When I jump off, I get scores of 60 to 70 meters.
edit: it should be fixed now (might require a refresh).
Pieter – hee hee thanks for your comment. I wasn’t expecting real jumpers to come across this – I don’t know if we’re going to tinker this too much for realism, but maybe it’ll spawn a new genre : )
Maybe it would be fun if you would fall into the water if you didn’t make it to the dirt! That’s the challenge of canal jumping: jump to the other side or get wet ;)
I’ve just jumped 91.39 and im trying to beat a friend who’s done 92.90 but he used a pen to assist him. Takes me back to the track and field days on the playstation.
If you run very slow and jump early, you can land in the water without touching the pole. You receive the message that you forgot to jump, though you plainly did jump.

It seems that about 244m is my record. Running to the pole at slowest speed possible leaves most time for climbing the pole.
244? : S
I don’t buy it. You could run at the slowest speed, but you need the velocity of running to be able to jump far from the pole.

85.32m I wonder, is it possible to jump out off screen?
Oh, 243, indeed. Haha. Should fix that, I guess.

Nice game. I jumped 80.62 meters.
@Stephen: Well jumping is a lifestyle, we miss nothing on the net :-)
Another suggestion: The worldrecord is 21.26 metres. Perhaps you could divide the distance by 4 (of so?)
we’re already dividing by 4 – we should maybe divide by 16, though, yes : P
i got 74.74 the running and distance are not very realistic but funny game

Good work – I still have trouble breaking 70 : (
86.32 :)
It’s a game! Short-lived, but I beat it!
“You could run at the slowest speed” … that’s what worked for me. :<

Fun! 83.49
